TYPES OF INDIVIDUAL CUT LETTERS

NON LIT

Non lit letters are your standard letter graphics that are inexpensive but still effective. These letter graphics are easily customizable and can come in a number of colours, fonts and sizes. Though they may not be as effective as illuminated channel letters they come in at a fraction of the cost.

FRONT LIT

These types of channel letters are the most commonly used, especially in and around retail malls and outdoor shopping centers. They typically have white material on the inside and a different chosen colour on the outside. Front lit letters are illuminated internally by LED modules behind a translucent acrylic face mounted on the front of the letter. This type of individual cut letters is great at catching the eyes of passers-by at night.

HALO LIT

These types of channel letters are also known as reverse lit channel letters. They are often used when a more refined look is the goal of the sign. They are mounted with a gap between the back of the letter and the wall that they are mounted to, in order to ensure that the light will reflect off of the wall and create a halo effect.

FRONT AND BACK LIT

This kind of sign uses both halo and front lighting techniques to light both the front and the back of the letters. This is most often used in order to use two kinds of colours simultaneously.
