Banner Making in Kitchener Waterloo

Do you need to generate attention? Do you have a new product or service to advertise? Are you changing locations? Banners are one of the most cost-effective ways to get the word out to the general public that something good is going on at your location! Banner printing is one of our specialities. Contact us now if you are planning to buy banners for a temporary purpose. We are the premier banner maker and banner printer expert in Kitchener-Waterloo.

BannerAdvertise A Grand Opening

Advertise a grand opening by using an inexpensive, temporary banner sign. Many people are not aware of changes in the areas where they live and work. Banner signs are large and, as they generally stand out from their surroundings, noticeable.

By placing a bright, colourful banner over the top of your window or on the side of a building, you can create a lot of buzz quickly.

Star Performance Academy bannerUse Banners To Launch Campaigns

Banners are a simple, cost-effective way to advertise. Businesses are always looking for ways to create interest, draw attention, and attract new clients to their location. What better way to do it than with an inexpensive vinyl banner sign? They are quick and easy to make, adaptable for use in more than one location, and inexpensive to buy.

Are you advertising a new product? Are you launching a new campaign? Do you have a special offer that you want to promote? A banner ad may be your best solution.

Chelsea Market banner and individual cut lettersCreate A Renovation Banner To Calm Fears

Are you undergoing major renovations and worried about your traffic? Perhaps you should consider a banner ad. Renovations can affect your business, especially if they are visible from the outside of your property.

A large dumpster, scaffolding, and stacks of building supplies are all tell-tale signs that the interior of your building may be in turmoil. Give your customers another sign – a banner sign to show them that all is well and you are still open for business. Keep your customers coming through your doors and simply remove the sign when the work is finished, or replace it with an announcement that renovations are complete!

“Westmount Signs is a dependable company who delivers a great product with fantastic customer service! They are quick, efficient, and always willing to work with you. We appreciate their hard work and dedication to all the projects they have assisted us with over the years at the Children’s Safety Village.”

get noticedThe Right Colours

Ensuring that you have the right palette of colours is important if you want your signs to get noticed in a crowded environment like a busy street or retail neighbourhood. In this case, you should take advantage of bright, bold, attention-grabbing colours that won’t get lost in the crowd.

However, it is also important to take a look at your current branding. If you plan to use your existing logo and branding, make sure the colour palette you plan to use on your new signage isn’t overwhelming.

Remember that colours create and enhance moods and environments, so subtle colours can work best if you are looking to create a calm and peaceful atmosphere. The sign above conveys peace, calm, and serenity, which is exactly the right kind of atmosphere for a medical centre and pharmacy.

A Sign’s Function

Make sure that your sign accomplishes that which it is intended to do.FancyAframe_244x244 If its purpose is to provide information, make sure that the correct information is displayed. If your sign is intended to provide direction, then ensure that the instructions are clear and not confusing. When a sign’s primary purpose is to warn of danger, make sure that the sign is very noticeable, with eye-catching colours, and that its line of sight is not obstructed in any way.

Obviously, signs can fulfil many other roles than we have listed, but the key point remains – make sure that the sign is designed in such a way that the reader cannot fail to understand its function! This sign on the right meets those requirements. Who could fail to understand that hot lunches are available and that the reader only has to follow the large, red arrow!

Photo 2015-10-19, 12 48 03The Bigger The Better

Many business owners are finding that outdoor signs can really add to their exposure, by drawing people into their businesses, increasing their sales, and improving their bottom line. It makes sense then, that with these signs, bigger is generally better. Larger signs that are both professionally designed, and well constructed, are almost always better at catching people’s attention than smaller ones. Trying to ignore a large sign that draws the eye is difficult. The sign on the left accomplishes this with its bold font.

Keep It Short

Don’t try to cram too much information on a sign. In the case of a sign, less is more. If it is an outdoor sign, remember that some people may be driving by and unable to read, or digest, a lot of information. It is better then, to limit your sign to the least amount of information that your potential customers need in order to make a decision.

The example below does just that, providing the business name, and their business activities in three words and a simple graphic.

Choice Of Font

Your choice of font conveys a wealth of important information about you, your business and your personality. Always make sure that your font fits in well with your brand image. For example, if you want to project a serious, reliable, professional image then don’t choose a light, flowery font!

Consider also the size and colour of the font or fonts that you are using. Think about the materials that you plan to use, and whether or not they will be 3D. If you are unsure about how to choose a font, ask an expert for advice. The sign for a pizza restaurant below uses a palette that is reminiscent of the Italian flag while the 3D letters stand out from the building and project towards the potential customer. Read more about font choice here.

Types of Signage

In choosing an outdoor sign you have two options: storefront signs or roadside signs. Each can be customized with lighting to allow night advertising. For a full list of our signage options, click here.

Storefront

vinylletteringIf a customer is looking for your location, a storefront sign will help direct them to the right building. Signs that are directly attached to the front of your store can be lit for night advertising or left as they are depending on whether your location and type of business would make this possible or beneficial.

Individual cut letters are by far the most appealing signage option and can be lit in several different ways. Click here to read more about how they work! Variations on this type of sign can be implemented to give your business whatever it needs most.

Roadside

Window Graphic 3A roadside sign’s main job is to advertise. Many businesses will use a roadside sign to display messages for their customers, such as hours of operation, special offers, events, and contact information. This signage can be electronic or a reader boards.

A freestanding sign without additional text can be illuminated at night with LED lights to draw attention. Illuminated roadside signs are especially useful if your business’ building is located far away from the main roads or other businesses. In this regard, it can be likened to a beacon for customers!

What Are My Options?

Outdoor business signs vary depending on their location, size, and purpose.

Roadside

Signs away from your building will require sturdy bases and durable materials since they will not be supported by any structure. They will also be distanced from any lighting, so consider installing lights in your sign to ensure it remains visible at night. You pyloncan click here to learn more about backlit signs or here to learn about LED signs. Electronic signs may also be a good option if your business often has specific messages to be advertised.

If you are in an area with adequate lighting already, consider installing an unlit, or traditional sign. These are practical and considerably cheaper than a lit sign. Traditional signs can be reader boards or A-frame signs. If you are in a plaza, make it a priority to install your business’ sign in the pylon sign typical in those areas.

Storefront

Photo 2015-10-19, 12 48 03A storefront sign is any sign attached to your building. These types of signs will typically be laid above your business’ entrance and can vary in style. Individual cut letter signs are extremely popular right now since they incorporate the modern minimalist look. They can also be installed with LED lighting so the letters will be visible at night. Banners are another, less permanent option, and help to advertise relevant temporary information to your customers such as sales events or changes being made to your building. Above anything else, always have a storefront sign. It is the most basic advertising since it is directly connected to your store and helps others identify where you are located.

Signage Solutions

Are you unsure of which sign to use for your business? Let’s look at the following situations:

IMG_2764Small Property

Drawing attention to a small property can be tough. When you are considering signage, always go for an overhead storefront sign. This will draw attention to you building’s exterior. For a more effective sign, use individual cut letters (logo permitting). Creating a minimalist sign is an excellent way to appeal to customers since it is modern and stylistic. You can also install a backlit or pylon sign on the edge of your property to attract customers from the road. Choose a respectable size, since the sign could outweigh your property if you are not careful.

In a Plaza

Big Bite Pizza and Wings PylonAlways be sure to include your business on a pylon sign. This will better the chances of someone finding your store. Pylon signs are a battleground for recognition so make sure your business comes out on top. Click here to learn more about effective logo designs to help you achieve the perfect logo for you. Plazas do not allow for much leeway in the types of signs you can use but go for something that fills the space you have been given for an overhead sign. Doing so will attract attention. If you would like to advertise more current specific information such as sales or events, consider setting up an a-frame sign outside your store. Passersby’s will be able to read it as they approach your store.

Photo 2015-07-24, 11 32 45Far Away

Businesses located out of the way of most daily traffic will find it harder to attract customers. This is usually due to the size of their building or the type of service. Roadside signs such as backlit or illuminated signs are essential to attracting customers from the get go. With installed lighting, your sign can advertise twice as much and improve your business. Banners are also an excellent idea since they are capable of being installed in many different areas around your building. Think big with your signs, and they will boost your business!

Sage Naturopathic ClinicHow Are They Different?

Since they are meant for the indoors, interior corporate signs are often made from materials that do not need to endure harsh weather conditions. They also have more installation options as opposed to exterior signage, which can only be installed in specific outdoor areas. Signs can be hung from ceilings, nailed to walls, or even stand on their own in a building. At Westmount Signs, we can install your signs for you to ensure they last. Interior corporate signs are often 3D, and use layered materials to provide a more eye-popping sign. This is exactly what a business needs in order to keep a customer’s interest.

What Are My Options?

Interior corporate signs come in a wide variety of types to suit every need. They could be simple posters, foam board, directorial signs, lasered and office signage, the list goes on. Westmount can provide your Cambridge business with everything it may need to decorate your office space or create great indoor signage options for any event you attend. Feel free to look at our full list of the interior corporate signs we offer by clicking here.

frostglass_picWhy Interior Corporate Signs?

Interior corporate signs have one very distinct advantage over other types of signs: they can accomplish more. An interior corporate sign can create beautiful door markings, a company sign for the front desk, posters and banners for any business convention or community event and much more. While exterior signs’ major purpose is to attract customers, interior signs can have a bit more wiggle room to achieve their goals. It is an excellent way to show your customers your creative side and proves to them that you can adapt your business’ logo and motto to any signage that comes your way. Westmount Signs and Printing can help you become as strong a company on the inside as you are on the outside.
